Profile

Chaturangan (meaning four courtyards) was established by Bisakha Sarker in 2002 as a result of the Chaturang initiative, an Arts Council England project that has helped to establish a collective identity for South Asian dance in the region. Chaturangan is continuing to further this initiative through various projects making South Asian dance more visible in the mainstream.

Statement from Bisakha Sarker, Artistic Director

Chaturangan creates innovative opportunities to bring artists together to support them to grow in confidence and satisfy their creativity.

Chaturangan wishes that through its initiatives the North West will become recognised for creating sophisticated and soulful South Asian dance.
