Founded in 1997 Chinese and West Cultural Exchange is an organisation concerned with Chinese musical collaboration. Chinese and West Cultural Exchange's latest project is between Zi Lan Liao and the celebrated Welsh harpist, Elinor Bennett. Zi Lan Liao is one of the leading exponents of Chinese music, and one of the most widely heard and best appreciated performers on the Ku-Cheng (Chinese harp) worldwide.
In addition to live performances, Chinese and West Cultural Exchange provide workshops in schools incorporating all Chinese artforms including music, dance, paper cutting, paper folding, kite making and bamboo flute making.

Chinese and West Cultural Exchange acts as a catalyst, and as a force, bringing artforms from China to a wider awareness in the west by way of educational workshops, performances and collaborations.
We will continue to act as a conduit for bringing the Chinese arts to wider attention in the west. We also aspire to introduce the Chinese community to western artform.
