Profile

LYAC works alongside Yemeni/Arabic speaking people and those interested in Arabic language and culture in the Merseyside area.

It's aim is to contribute to relieving poverty, improving health and advancing education among the Arabic community. LYAC takes a positive view of the potential of people and provides services to enable them to make the most of their individual and collective skills and abilities by the celebration of all aspects of Arabic history, language, cultural heritage and identity.

Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival, a partnership between LYAC and Bluecoat Arts Centre, is an annual event that promotes Arabic arts, music and dance.

Statement from Ali Qassim, Chairman

We plan to develop the annual Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival with other partners to become a major Liverpool and UK event. And to develop the capacity of the Liverpool Yemeni Arabic Club to make a difference in regenerating the city, along with other voluntary organisations, to make Liverpool truly A World in One City.
