Artists statement
 
J Chuhan creates sensuous paintings based on her fascination with the body and with natural forms, moving between representation and abstraction, suggestive of microcosm and macrocosm, strength and fragility, materiality and dissolution.


Exhibitions
 
J Chuhan studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London and is currently Professor of International Art at Liverpool John Moores University. Her work has been exhibited internationally and at venues across the UK including Tate Liverpool; Barbican Centre, London; Arnolfini, Bristol and Ikon, Birmingham; and features in collections including the Arts Council Collection; University of Liverpool Art Collection and Usher Gallery, Lincoln.
