Welcome to decibel, a North West artists' profile, which profiles the work of culturally diverse individuals and organisations in the North West.

decibel in the North West released the first profile publication at the end of 2004. This directory contained 40 artists and organisations from all artistic genres from across the region. The artists' profile website was created in 2005 with artists and organisations from the original publication and an additional 10 other profiles. The website has now been given a fresh new look and 11 more artists and organisations have been added. It now features the work of 61 artists and organisations, giving a snapshot of the wealth of talent and diverse spectrum of work being created in the North West.

decibel is Arts Council England's initiative to support, promote and celebrate the artistic achievements of British-based artists of African, Asian* and Chinese backgrounds.

*Asia in this context refers to the continent from Turkey to Japan.
