decibel is an Arts Council England initiative, which was initially a short-term project (May 2003 to March 2004) designed to have a long-term impact to raise the profile and strengthen opportunities for artists of African, Caribbean, Asian* and Chinese descent based in England.
Building upon the success of the three previous showcases, the forth decibel Performing Arts Showcase will take place in Manchester 15-18 September 2009. For more information visit the decibel performing arts showcase website.
We hope this website will be used as a tool for those who are interested in culturally diverse artists and the site will continue to grow to reflect the diverse work being created in the North West.
*Asia in this context refers to the continent from Turkey to Japan.
